Ontario continues to prioritize skilled trades as labour shortages persist across construction, industrial, mechanical, transportation, and resource sectors.

On February 18, 2026, Ontario issued 1,404 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker and International Student streams for candidates working in skilled trades-related occupations.

The draw targeted individuals who:

  • Hold a valid work or study permit
  • Have a job offer in an eligible skilled trades occupation

Candidates required a minimum score of:

  • 50+ under the Foreign Worker stream
  • 80+ under the International Student stream

The occupations invited covered a broad range of in-demand trades, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, welders, mechanics, heavy equipment operators, HVAC technicians, and various supervisors and technical trades roles across construction, transportation, mining, oil and gas, and manufacturing sectors.

Eligible profiles had to be created and attested in the system by February 16, 2026.
